In the wake of growing injustices against our Sacred Water Protectors who are defending against the intrusion of the TransCanada Pipeline at Standing Rock in North Dakota and the Unist’ot’en Camp in British Columbia, Canada.

Urban Primitive Lifestyle invites you to a weekend of conjuring change in the world through creative expression of art and ceremony.

This is a call out to Dream Artists to become conscious agents of transformation in the world through the creative medium of art. Daemon and Raven will facilitate aspiring and established artists of all skill levels using meditation, sound, focused attention, conscious reflection and creative expression focusing on the Lakota Black Snake Prophecy.
Cultural Teachings and Sweat Lodge will be facilitated by Indigenous Elders, Record Keepers and Traditional Healers, Mark & Wendy Phillips.
Friday, December 16 – Sunday, December 18
FEE of $333 per person (maximum of 17 participants) covers the cost of shared* overnight accommodation on December 16-18 (see below), breakfasts, vegetarian lunches, and snacks limited expenses for art supplies and opening ceremonies and includes $33 dollar donation shared between Standing Rock and Unist’ot’ten Camp. Sweat Lodge Ceremony is a traditional purification for an individual mind, body and spirit cleansing. This ceremony is to also give thanks to all of creation.
- No alcohol consumption 24 hours prior to sweat lodge ceremony.
- No photographs during the ceremony.
- Pregnant women and those who are menstruating do not participate for health and purification reasons.
- Those with heart problems or other serious health problems should let the Sweat Lodge conductor know.
- Do not wear jewelry or glasses into the lodge.
- Men wear shorts and bring a towel;
- Women wear skirt, t-shirt and bring a towel;
- Bring tobacco offering
Suggested $50 donation in cash.
To book your stay, please select one of the following in addition to making your etransfer payment:
A) Loon Room – 1 king size bed and 1 single foldaway bed (sleeps 3).
B) Blue Jay Room – 1 queen size bed and 1 double bed (sleeps 4).
C) Robin Room – 1 double bed (sleeps 2).
D) Hummingbird Room – 2 double beds (sleeps 4).
E) Cardinal Room – 4 single beds (sleeps 4)..
What to Bring:
Comfortable, loose clothing and slippers, basic hygiene products (no perfumes please), your art supplies and journal for the weekend, snowshoes and warm layers for after lunch on the trails, sleeping bag and pillow for shared beds,bath towel, t-shirt, shorts and extra seating blankets for sweat lodge and a food offering for Friday night Potluck.
This Art Conjuring session will be grandfathered in as an elective credit toward the Urban Primitive Tattoo and Art Academy (curriculum and schedule will be available in 2017).
